Return Of A Long-Lost Brother

By Clancy O’Lafferty

I was bored at the airport awaiting my flight,

So I spoke to a gentleman just to my right.

He said he was meeting his brother that day,

“It’s been forty-five years since he first went away.”

“Will you recognize him after all of those years?”

“No, he may now have no teeth, small eyes and big ears.”

“Do you think he will recognize you then today?”

“Of course!  I have not been the one gone away!”
