by Clancy O’Lafferty

You cannot capture the Now, my friend

No matter your flash or your lightning shutter

No matter your lens or your mega pixles

The Now renders microchips useless pieces

We would seize this Fairy with desperate hands

With a click we would wring from her laughter and songs

Parties, last dances, romances, first loves

But she slips through our fingers as hourglass sands

Our camera is empty, the Fairy is lost

And parting, in vapour, she whispers again

“You cannot capture  the Now, my friend,

you can only capture the Was”
